Our History
22 May 1990
The idea of Unimasters was born.
1990
The first shipment is officially done - a guitar delivered by air from Norway.
1993
Unimasters Air was established with air freight forwarding as its core business. The company became the first IATA Cargo Agent in Bulgaria. At the same time, Unimasters was accepted as a member of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) and the National Association of Bulgarian Freight Forwarders (NABF).
1994
The company "Unitainer" is established with the main activity of sea container forwarding and with the registration of its bill of lading the company acquires the status of Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC).
1995
The company is expanding its activities in maritime logistics, adding ship agency, ship supply, port forwarding, container repair and storage to its portfolio of services. In order to provide a complete door-to-door solution to the customer, the company is setting up its own customs brokerage and inland container haulage team.
1996
Establishes its subsidiary Marins International to include cargo insurance in the range of services offered on the Bulgarian market. Currently the company is one of the leaders in the field of specialised insurance and reinsurance brokerage in Bulgaria.
1997
The new office building of Unimasters in Varna - "Marine House", equipped with state-of-the-art business amenities, communication and information technologies, has been completed.
1997 - 2000
Selected IATA Cargo Agent of the Year in Bulgaria for 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000. Established as a leading air freight forwarder.
1998 - 2003
Unimasters consolidates its position as an integrated logistics provider by creating its own solutions in the field of sea, air, and land transport.
2003
The company launched its regional expansion by opening a subsidiary in Romania with offices in Bucharest and Constanta, offering a full range of logistics services to the local market.
2004
It is building its own logistics park "Eurogate" near Sofia Airport, where it offers integrated logistics services to its customers using the latest technologies.
2005
Established as a leading company with its own land and marine groupage workshops. In partnership with first-class suppliers, it manages to provide global coverage for sea consolidations and pan-European coverage for road groupage products.
2006
"Unimasters was awarded the Superbrand of Bulgaria award in 2006/2007.
The company wins the first in a series of transportation coordination contracts for the U.S. Army needs in Romania and Bulgaria.
2007
Implements a quality management system and is certified by ISO 9001:2000.
2008
The company continues its regional expansion by opening a subsidiary in Hungary with an office in Budapest - Unimasters Logistics Kft.
2011
Implements cloud-based transport management platform CargoWise and becomes partner of Australian software company WiseTech Global.
2012
The company invested in the purchase of modern double-deck trailers, ensuring additional operational efficiency and flexibility in transport operations. It implements a modern transport management solution. The system contributes to providing a 360-degree view of all the company's transports, enabling precise transport capacity planning.
2014
Creates a self-service web portal - MyUnimasters, enabling users to track shipments and access information on orders, documentation, etc.
2015
Implemented the most innovative sales and customer interaction management solution (Salesforce) and an integrated quality, risk and supply security management system (ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 and 28000 standards).
2017
Announces new corporate identity and new logo to position the company as a modern digital logistics service provider.In an effort to offer a new generation of unified customer service, the company is also setting up its own Customer Hub. In response to its efforts, Unimasters has been selected as Bulgaria's national champion in the “Customer Focus” category of the prestigious European Business Awards.
2018
In 2018, Unimasters acquired a postal operator and courier license.
2019
The company opens a new maritime and port centre near the port of Varna West, designed with the help of Hamburg Port Consulting, which incorporates state-of-the-art digital technologies for the handling, management and control of sea shipping containers and cargo.
2019
Unimasters has launched its new digital brand Ship-e-motion with a cutting-edge digital multimodal transport platform, self-service portal and mobile app. Expands service portfolio by launching courier services and e-commerce solutions (e-fulfilment, B2B, B2C, D2C)
2020
Beginning of strategic partnership with eLogii, a leading next-generation solution for dynamic first and last mile delivery management and optimisation
2021
The upgraded MyUnimasters digital customer self-service portal has been launched. The company is expanding its services to include third-country road haulage: Germany-UK, Germany-Benelux, Germany-Italy, etc.
2022
Company implements ePOD, launches a new version of its customer self-service portal MyUnimasters. Successful migration from CargoWise to new freight management system (FMS).
2023/24
Unimasters expands the range of courier products and services by introducing a new solution for parcel delivery now also to a courier office, in partnership with "Bulgarian Post"
