A New Stage in the Digitalisation of Road Control in Bulgaria

October 28, 2025

From 15 October 2025, a new Weigh in Motion (WIM) system for automatically weighing heavy-goods vehicles while they are moving entered into force.

It forms part of Bulgaria’s national toll system and is intended to improve control over road loading and increase the safety of road infrastructure.

What this means for the transport sector

  • The system will cover up to 100 certified locations across the country.
  • This will require better advance cargo planning and strict compliance with statutory weight limits.
  • During the initial period, temporary changes to schedules and costs may occur while the market adapts to the new control regime.

How Unimasters is preparing

Unimasters is actively adapting its processes, teams and partner network to support a smooth introduction of the new requirements.

Our focus remains on accuracy, safety and sustainability at every stage of the logistics chain.

Our priority remains unchanged:
To provide efficient, transparent and reliable transport regardless of new regulations.
